Joel Osteen is the pastor of Lakewood Church, Texas.USA. A church with over 30,000 members; the largest in the United States. Interviewed in one of the shows in more famous live nationwide, called Larry King Live, is atrangantó and could not cite John 14: 6 to say that there is salvation in Christ alone.
A few excerpts from the interview with Joel Osteen; KING: We have been here dicen..Si ministers believe in Christ go to heaven and if you do not believe in Christ, no matter what you do in your life without Christ you are not going to heaven ... " KING: If you think you have to believe in Christ, they are wrong, is not it? OSTEEN: "Well I do not know if I believe they are wrong. I think this is what the Bible teaches and this is what I think about the Christian faith. But I think that only God can judge the heart of a person. I spent some time in India with my father. I do not know everything about their religion. But I know that love God. I do not know; I saw his sincerity. So I do not know. I know for me, and what the Bible teaches; I want to have a relationship with Jesus. The Bible clearly tells us that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, and that the only way to the Father is through Him That's not really a message of condemnation, but of truth.. OSTEEN: "Yes, I am according to this person, I think that ... KING: So a Jew is not going to Heaven? OSTEEN: "No; that's what I say, Larry; I can not judge anyone's heart. -You Know. Only God can see someone's heart, and then I do not know. For me, it's not my business saying (you know), this is it yes or no. I only say: 'This is what the Bible teaches and I'll put my faith in Christ'. And I think that is not only good when someone is saying, or you're saying, 'you do not go, you do not go, you do not go; because it is not exactly my way. I just ... " KING: But you think your way. " Friends and brothers, the Bible is clear. There is ONE and only one road out of an Eternal Hell; and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. The resistance of Osteen to confess the only redeeming way to salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ sent waves of impact between many of the followers of Osteen. And because the amount of electronic correspondence and letters questioning his statements, Osteen wrote an apology on its website. So conscious, consistent and clearly rejected the Lord Jesus Christ is the ONLY Way of Salvation! I know that many have apologized and even defended, but we're not talking about a 'baby' in Christ. We are talking about the pastor of the largest in the US church! (The pastor chief singer Marcos Witt) And that's not all, many other statements Osteen during the interview with Larry King were shamefully opposed to the Word of God: KING: But you're not fire and brimstone, right? Do not you hit the pulpit preaching hell and damnation? OSTEEN: "No. That's not me. I've never been. I've always been an entertainer heart. And when I took the place of my father he came from a background of Southern Baptists; and for 40, 50 years ago yes there was a lot of that (hell, fire and brimstone). But, you know, I just-I do not believe it; I do not think- Perhaps, I thought for a while. But now, I have the heart to condemn people. I am here to encourage them. I see myself as more than a coach as a motivator; to help them to experience the life God has for us. " Due to the vague and confusing answers Osteen, Larry King a sinner asks Osteen if he believes in the Bible. Do not you think it's bizarre to ask that question to a MEGA PASTOR?
